Hero Bio:
Guy M. Shepherd, born at Wylie, Texas, in March, 1885. He volunteered from Ely, Nevada, November 23, 1917. Served in the 242d Aero Squadron (668 Aero Supply Squadron) to June 18, 1918; U. S. Aviation School at Kelly Field, Texas, to June 20, 1918; Detachment 21, Eberts Field, Arkansas, to June 27, 1918; Squadron D, at the same place, to September 3, 1918; and in U. S. Army Aerial Photography, Rochester, New York, until his death. Died of disease at Rochester, October 18, 1918.
Person notified of death, William W. Shepherd, father, Ely, Nevada. All efforts to establish communication with relatives or acquaintances have failed. Private Shepherd’s name is on the Roll of Honor of White Pine County.
